Lights out

Last night I walked home in the dusk.  And it happened again.  The thing that keeps happening...

Does that happen to anyone else?  Do other people make street lights go out on a regular basis?
I decided they must.  So I googled it.

Turns out, I am not alone.  I even have a label. (Woo hoo!  Love those safe little boxes...)
I am a "SLIder".  A Street Lamp Interferer.

Some people think it's to do with possessing psychic powers (yesss....), others say that SLIders are more electrically charged than others (my ego quite fancies that).

Of course, there's no scientific basis to this phenomenon whatsoever.

But so long as I'm not the only one, I'm perfectly happy to keep walking around turning out lights all over Wellington in an unscientific manner.

Maybe you're a putter outer like on Harry Potter?

Whoa, I used to do SLIding at 100 kms/h!
On the nor-western in orkland, quite a few times. Guess that makes me pretty hard core...

If there's something I've always said about you Malcolm, it's that you're hard core.

does it work in reverse, too? like if you walk back past the streetlights you just put out...do they go back on again?
